There are three types of sentences.

- Complex sentence
- Compound complex sentence

Transformation of Sentences| Simple Sentences into the Complex Sentences:
It is very easy to transform a simple sentence into a complex sentence. We can easily change the sentence by expanding a word or phrase into a clause.
And by reversing the same step, we can convert the Complex sentence into a simple sentence. When we removed the phrase or word from the clause it becomes a simple sentence.
Transformation of sentences Rules:
There are some important rules of transformation that are given below.
Rule no 1:
“Present participle” in this case for converting the simple sentence into a complex sentence. We add since/as/ when in the first half of the sentence.
Simple Sentence: Shut the gate, I went back to the office
Complex Sentence: When I shut the gate, I went back to the office.
Rule no 2:
“Being/ verb+ing” in this case for converting the simple sentence into a complex sentence. We add since/as/ when in the first half of the sentence.
Simple Sentence: After winning the match he cried.
Complex Sentence: As he won the match, he cried.
Rule no 3:
“Too /to” in this case for converting the simple sentence into a complex sentence. We add so/ that (negative).
Simple Sentence: He is too weak to carry the bag.
Complex Sentence: He is too weak that she cannot carry the bag.

Rule no 4:
“In spite of/ despite” in this case for converting the simple sentence into a complex sentence. We add though/although.
Simple Sentence: In spite of being famous, he is hardworking
Complex Sentence: Though he is famous, he is working hard.
Rule no 5:
“To” in this case for converting the simple sentence into a complex sentence. We add “so that.”
Simple Sentence: We drink water to live.
Complex Sentence: We drink water so that we can live.
Rule no 6:
“Because of” in this case for converting the simple sentence into a complex sentence. We add since at the start of a sentence.
Simple Sentence: Because of her illness, she could not join the party.
Complex Sentence: Since she was ill, she could not join the party.

Rule no 7:
“Subject+ verb+ object+ present participle” in this case for converting the simple sentence into a complex sentence
Subject+ verb+ object+ relative pronoun of object+ be verb +tense according to relative pronoun+ remaining sentence.
Simple Sentence: I saw a kite flying.
Complex Sentence: I saw a kite that was flying.
Rule no 8:
“Without” in this case for converting the simple sentence into a complex sentence. We add if/ in case of.
Simple Sentence: Without adding the salt the rice will taste bad.
Complex Sentence: if you don’t add salt the rice will taste bad.
Rule no 9:
For converting the simple sentence into a complex sentence adjective will be converted into that /which.
Simple Sentence: It was a red top.
Complex Sentence: It was a top that was red.
Rule no 10:
“At a time” ” in this case for converting the simple sentence into a complex sentence. We convert into when.
